Athletics Leadership Course

Pictured –04/12/19 Participants of our Athletics Leadership Course. This course was one of the modules in our Community Coaching Course. We ran a Community Coaching Course here in Sports Hub Edgeworthstown in September 2019. Participants completed courses such as GAA Foundation level in both hurling & football, FAI PDP Level 1, Safeguarding, Active Leadership, Basketball Coaching and Athletics Leadership Course over the 4 months. Each Participant received a Certificate of Completion. We wish all our coaches the very best of luck in the future.

Pictured – Our sensory Garden at the front of our centre which was completed in February 2020. The Sensory Garden project at St. Mary’s Community Campus LTD was funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development under the CLÁR programme for 2019. CLÁR (Ceantair Laga Árd-Riachtanais)is a targeted investment programme for rural areas that aims to provide funding for small-scale infrastructural projects in areas that experience disadvantage. CLÁR aims to support sustainable development in identified areas by attracting people to live and work there. The funding works in conjunction with local funding and on the basis of locally identified priorities. The scheme is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development. It is delivered by local authorities in consultation with groups in local communities.

Our Community Wall Ball was completed in August 2020. Funding was secured from Sport Ireland through the Dormant Accounts Fund to complete this project. It is open to the public to come up and try out their skills on the various targets.
